Step of Christian Life

Finding out the direction of life is important. Understanding each step of life provides clear direction and aim as you live   your life. The Bible provides such a clear direction for everyone. In this seminar, we will focus on First Peter 1:22–2:10 to see the course of life that the Lord intends all man to live.

Session 1 Rev Hiroshi Yabuki(Japanische Evangelische Gemeinde Frankfurt

Your Young men shall see visions, and your old men dream dreams

Acts 2:14-21

The decent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost is the beginning of the End Times.

The Holy Spirit will guide the Church at the End Times to hear the word of God and distinguish the things of the Time. The Church will then powerfully proclaim the Gospel of hope; “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” by the help of the Holy Spirit. We’d like to learn what it means to “eagerly wait for the Kingdom of God” from the preface of Peter's sermon.

Session 2 Rev. Nobuyuki Uchimura (Milan Praise Church)

The Lord`s Prayer "Your Kingdom Come"
Luke 11:1-4
The central phrase of the Lord`s prayer is "Your kingdom come." But what does this actually mean?
Many people think Christianity teaches that when we die, our spirits leave our bodies and go to heaven to be with God for ever. However, this is not the final hope that the Bible gives us. I would like to look into the Lord`s prayer and make clear the Bible`s teaching on this subject.
Session3 Rev. Hiroyuki Ando (Japanese Evangelical church of Munich)
"The landowner`s promise"
Matthew 20 : 1 -16
I am sure you all know the parable of the vineyard in Matthew 20. Although the workers were hired for different lengths of time, they all received the same wages. Are we like those who worked from early morning and felt they deserved their wages, or are we like those lucky ones who received a whole day`s wage even though they only worked from 5pm? We want to learn from this parable more about the values of the kingdom we are longing for.

Session 4  Rev. Katsutaro Kawai (Romania, Transylvanian Christian Fellowship)

The rapture: Second coming and New Jerusalem (last temple).  1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and   1 Corinthians

1,The rapture: an event (passive incident) that will happen to Christians, ie those who are in Christ.  1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, 1 Corinthians

2.Jesus’ intervention as God in second coming.  Revelation 19:11-16

3、The study about the New Jerusalem (last temple).  Successive temples up to that time:  Moses’ tabernacle, David’s tabernacle, Solomon’s temple and Herod’s temple.  However, in regard to the appearance of the last temple, what is written at the end of the Bible?

Sunday Worship Rev. Martin Meyer, (Japanese Evangelical Church of Switzerland)
Realization of the Kingdom
                           Revelation 19:11~16

We can find many prophecies about the Second Coming of Christ in both the Old and New Testaments, but Chapter 19 of the Book of Revelation probably expresses it in the clearest terms. This passage focuses on the victory and glory of Jesus Christ as well as His authority as Judge. In particular, we learn from the passage about 1. the seven signs of the Second Coming of Christ, 2. the four names of Christ used at His Second Coming, and 3. the expectation and glory of His Church. The theme of this conference, "We Wait for the Kingdom to Come," expresses the spiritual attitude of the Church. To put it differently, it means "We Wait for the Return of our Lord." Let us learn from the passage how to apply its message to our daily life and relate it to our spiritual life as we wait for His Return.

Special lecture on

"The Historical Changes in the Doctrine of the Millennial Kingdom"

by Pastor Kenichi Nakagawa of `Harvest Time Ministries`. Pastor Nagakawa writes:

To be honest, there are so many different opinions about eschatology, it`s really very confusing.
This time I would like to deal with the following points:
1. The content of Pre-, Post-, and A-millennialist theories
2. Historical transitions in each theory
3. A biblical investigation of each theory

SESSION in English on Fri. & Sat.

 by Dr. Daisuke Okada

The year 2017 is an important year for all true believers of Jesus Christ, since it marks the 500th year of the Protestant Reformation.  God used men who were convicted, convinced, and converted by the true Gospel of Jesus Christ to recover Christian faith.  As we stand 499 years later, the Protestant churches today are having an identity crisis.  Various waves of socio-cultural pressures and doctrinal confusions have caused many churches to lose sight of the truth of the Gospel.  The foundation upon which the Protestantism is built upon is being shaken right in front of our eyes.

Therefore, it is imperative for all true believers to stand firm on the truth of the Gospel and to live in light of this Gospel truth.  To do so, there is no better place than to look at the passages that changed the life of a man who was perhaps most influential for the reformation.  In our first session, we will examine closely the declarations of Paul’s confidence in the Gospel from Romans 1:16–17.   These verses brought the Reformers to the realization and reclamation of the Gospel truth.  These verses tell us why Paul and many other faithful men and women spent their lives suffering for the sake of the Gospel.  Our goal and desire is to see ourselves being confident and committed to this timeless and wonderful Gospel with complete confidence as we carefully understand the words of Paul.

In our second session, we will look at Romans 8:26–39, which in a conclusion of the first section of the Book of Romans.  After explaining in details about the Gospel truth in the previous chapters, Paul provided his readers three unparalleled reasons why believers’ glory is completely secured.  For those who believe in Jesus, the truths contained in these verses are worth so much more than any earthly treasures.  It reveals the work of the Triune God in the lives of the believers, produces confidence in our future, and provides biblical perspective for the present life.  Understanding this wonderful section of the Scripture will certainly change the way you view and live your lives.

Pararell to the main sessions on Friday and Saturday morning, two Bible studies with Dr. Daisuke Okada will be held for Non-Japanese speaking people. (Their will be no translation for the main sessions on Friday and Saturday mornings.)
